Advocacy

At the Seattle King County NAACP, we are dedicated to advocating for civil rights and social justice. Our advocacy efforts focus on influencing public policy, promoting equitable laws, and ensuring that the voices of our community are heard. We work tirelessly to protect and advance the rights of individuals, addressing issues such as racial discrimination, voting rights, and criminal justice reform. Organizing

Organizing is at the heart of our work at the Seattle King County NAACP. We bring together individuals and communities to collectively address social injustices and drive meaningful change. Through grassroots mobilization, community outreach, and coalition-building, we empower people to take action and advocate for their rights. Our organizing efforts focus on creating strong networks and fostering leadership within the community to tackle pressing issues and build a brighter future.

Our work within community

Education

The NAACP ensures that disadvantaged students and students of color receive quality education. We provide access to great teaching, equitable resources, and a challenging curriculum, aiming to eliminate racial inequities and prepare students for college or successful careers.

Health

The Seattle King County NAACP Health Committee supports optimal health care for people of color. We aim to positively impact social determinants of health and address health disparities in our community.

ACT-SO

ACT-SO is a year-long achievement program that recruits, stimulates, and encourages African American high school students to strive for excellence in academic, cultural, technological, and scientific fields.
